David Torres, MD

Dr. David Torres is a leading Peruvian orthopaedic surgeon and the current President of SLARD, one of Latin America’s most influential organizations dedicated to arthroscopy, sports medicine, and orthopedic education. Through this role, he has helped elevate surgeon training, scientific collaboration, and standardized clinical practices across the region.

Clinically, Dr. Torres specializes in arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability management, and biologically enhanced tendon healing. He is nationally recognized for advancing minimally invasive shoulder surgery in Peru and for promoting evidence-based approaches to treating high-demand athletes and active patients.

His academic contributions include work in tendon healing evaluation, graft augmentation strategies, and the study of postoperative return-to-function metrics.
